Serai – The Lemongrass

These serai were taken fresh from my yard right before I was about to cook last week. I used to buy serai from wet market but since my cultivation process manage to grow a bunch of lemongrass plant, I should be happy that I could take like 2-3 stalks every time the need calls for it.

If you were to cook rendang or ayam bumbu, you will need a lot more than this mere 3 stalks of serai. Usually when I need to cook such dish, I will buy from the market (unless later when I manage to grow my own herbal garden at the back of my kitchen..haha!) I rather not try to kill my lemongrass plant that started to thrive this rainy season.
